Robert David Hall was born on 9 November 1947 in East Orange, New Jersey. He studied at the Tustin (CA) High School and later earned a degree in English Literature from UCLA.
He married three times. He was the husband of Susan Petroni from 1969 to 1974. Then he married Connie Cole in 1979, he has a son from her named Andrew. They parted their ways in 1987. He is now the husband of Judy Sterns, both were tied in nuptial bond in 1999.
He was badly injured, in a near death accident of his car, with an 18-wheeled truck. He had to undergo the traumatic amputation of both his legs in 1978. Not only this, he received 65% burns on his body, due to the explosion that occurred during the accident. He uses prosthetic limbs.
Being a disabled person was not a hindrance for him, and he never stopped in his life. He has used his disability in many his performances and he advocates for disabled Americans.
He can play guitar and was a professional musician. He has worked as a high profile radio DJ in Los Angeles.
He appeared in the television series ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation‘, ‘The West Wing’ and in ‘L.A. Law’. He has narrated the documentary series ‘North Mission Road‘. He has also acted in ‘Class Action’, ‘Life Goes On’, ‘Beverly Hills 90210′, ‘Dream Lover’, ‘Andersonville‘ and ‘Starship Troopers’. He also appeared in ‘The Negotiator’, ‘The Practice’, ‘The Burkittsville 7′, ‘The Eavesdropper’, ‘The Roymann Closure’ and ‘The Gene Generation’.
He has also done voice-over for several cartoons and commercials.
He won the Screen Actors Guild Award in 2005 for the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’ and was nominated for the same during 2002-2004.

Robert David Hall is playing “Dr. Al Robbins” in ‘CSI’ tv show. He works as the Chief Medical Examiner at the Las Vegas Police Department. He works with Dr. Gil Grissom and both are equal to each other at the intellectual level. They are never disturbed by the varied actions and habits resulting from cultural differences and miscarriages of human society. When Grissom left, Robbins developed similar relationship with Raymond Langston, who is new member in CSI.
