He borrowed a pick-up truck from his stepfather in which he traveled to his dreamland, Los Angeles, with an ambition to become an actor. When in Los Angeles, he drove only during the day, because of the broken headlights of the pickup.
He earned a major break on the primetime soap opera ‘Savannah‘. His character died in the pilot episode itself, but he continued to appear in the flashbacks. He then returned on the series, as the identical twin of his dead character. He appeared in a guest role for ‘ER‘ and in a regular role in ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation‘. He came hours after the scheduled time on the first day of the fifth season’s filming, saying that he just overslept. After a few weeks, the dispute was resolved and both of them were inducted back in the series, but they did not get the increased pay like the other cast members.
In another controversy in 2006, he earned unfavorable reactions from the press, in Australia, where he was to appear at the Logies. His publicist called the organizers two hours before, to say that Eads did not like the red carpets. Eads also had some alleged flings with the local stars of soap operas.
He won the Screen Actors Guild Award - 2005 for the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’ and earned the nomination for the same in 2002-2004.
